Week 17: Lora Zombie
“Catzilla” (2015)
This week’s artist is Russian-born Lora Zombie, known for her vivid grunge-inspired colored pieces. She’s been featured in her home of Russia as well as New York City, Toronto, and Los Angeles.
Check her out on her website, Instagram, Deviantart, or Facebook.
Lora’s art often features political themes, touching on pollution and environmental conservation. In many ways, her pieces are reminiscent of the anonymous street artist Banksy, but with a lot more color.
Many people have even gotten tattoos of her work as gorgeous watercolor pieces!
You can buy her art prints, originals, and clothes on Eyes on Walls. (Bonus: sale there this weekend, 4-22-16 through 4-24-16.)
Unicorns, cats, birds, and pugs often show up in her work.
In addition, pop culture is a theme in many of her works, especially the late Kurt Cobain.
[Note: some of her works are NSFW for nudity; stop scrolling now if you don’t want to see them on your screen.]
